From October 20-24, NISGUA will be in North Carolina hosting a speaking tour with the Diocesan Commission for the Defense of Nature (CODIDENA), one of the organizations we provide human rights accompaniment for. Made up primarily of Xinka people living on their ancestral territory, CODIDENA is key in organizing communities to succesfully protect land, water and territory from corporate-induced environmental destructiton. Some examples include Grassroots Water Monitoring Projects and Communications Collectives that train ordinary people in the community (many of them youth) to combat disinformation from private corporations and corrupt government powers.

We hope that this speaking tour strengthens and inspires ordinary people in the U.S. to face the dangerous political moment we are all in as practically as CODIDENA faces its own: organizing strategically, pragmatically, intentionally, and internationally!
