We invite you to submit photographs for consideration for our 2027 solidarity calendar!

This year’s theme, “Solidarity Over Time,” invites a broad interpretation. As NISGUA marks 45 years of accompaniment, we hope to highlight Guatemalan social movements and the role of international solidarity across the years.

We are especially interested in photographs from both past and present that reflect continuity and change—images that capture long-term, sustained relationships alongside evolving and dynamic forms of resistance and solidarity.

What we’re looking for

We welcome submissions that may include, but are not limited to:

  • Historical and recent moments of accompaniment and solidarity
  • Community organizing across generations
  • Long-standing relationships between communities and international allies
  • Actions, protests, or mobilizations over time
  • Processes of resistance, healing, and justice
  • Everyday expressions of solidarity in communities
  • Indigenous leadership, territory defense, and collective care

Deadline

The deadline for submissions is May 18th.

Submission guidelines

We will only publish photos that do not pose a security risk. For photos of identifiable individuals, we require their permission.

We will consider images taken in Guatemala or connected to Guatemalan movements. For the calendar layout, horizontal photos—or two complementary vertical images—work best.

For full details, please review the submission guidelines included with this call.
