In 2001, NISGUA joined other international organizations to coordinate international accompaniment as a tool to dissuade threats against human rights defenders and open political space for them to continue their work. Our GAP volunteer program is implemented with the support of Sponsoring Communities, who are a living testimony of intergenerational and decades-long solidarity with the people of Guatemala.
